Sweet Caramelized Yellow Onions


3 cups Gills' sliced yellow onions

2 tbsp sugar

1 stick butter


  1. Set a large sauté pan to medium-low heat and melt your butter melt your butter. Once butter is melted add the onions.
  2. For approximately 20 minutes, sauté onions until translucent.
  3. Add sugar and continue cooking on low heat for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown.

Caramelized onions act as an excellent soup base, topping, or an accompaniment to a great sandwich.
